As Regional Director and Equity Partner of the Veritas Institute for the West and South African Region, Augustine Egar, CPP, provides strategic leadership for regional growth, enterprise development, and institutional expansion across one of the Institute’s most dynamic geographic portfolios. He oversees regional business development, partnership cultivation, market penetration strategy, and the advancement of Veritas Institute’s professional education, governance, and security leadership programs throughout Africa. In this capacity, he serves as the Institute’s principal representative for the region, guiding strategic initiatives, strengthening institutional presence, and driving sustainable growth aligned with Veritas’ global mission.

Augustine is a distinguished security governance executive with more than fifteen years of leadership experience spanning enterprise security management, organizational governance, fraud control, cybersecurity, and resilience strategy. His career reflects a sustained record of elevating security maturity, strengthening governance structures, and leading transformation programs for complex organizations across West and Southern Africa.

He has held senior leadership roles—including Chief Security Officer, Head of Operations, and Senior Supervisor—where he directed enterprise-wide security modernization, strategic risk governance, and resilience initiatives for both indigenous and multinational organizations. His professional engagements span private security, telecommunications, banking, oil and gas, education, real estate, and advisory consulting, establishing him as one of the region’s most versatile and multidimensional security governance practitioners.

Augustine holds globally recognized professional credentials, including the Certified Protection Professional (CPP®) from ASIS International, Chartered Security Professional (ChSP) from the World Certification Institute, Certified Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP) from Wilfrid Laurier University/PPI, ISO 37003 Fraud Control Management Systems Implementer, Cybersecurity Defense certifications, among others. His academic foundation in Business Management (Corporate Managerial Administration) from the Nigerian College of Administration/Chartered Institute of Administration provides a strong managerial and administrative underpinning to his governance work.

As Founder and Director of Microtech, he delivers executive advisory services in enterprise security governance, cybersecurity strategy, fraud risk management, business continuity, organizational resilience, and digital trust. He has led large-scale transformation programs, including the security restructuring of residential estates exceeding 2,000 housing units and more than 3,000 residents, the development of governance frameworks, and strategic advisory to executive leadership on emerging risks and sustainable growth.

His expertise spans the full spectrum of Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC); fraud control; information and cybersecurity; physical security and executive protection; crisis and incident management; business continuity; critical infrastructure protection; loss prevention; and executive capacity development.

Augustine currently serves as an Expert Member of the National Technical Committee (ISO/TC 309 – Governance of Organizations), contributing to Nigeria’s alignment with international governance standards in collaboration with the Standards Organization of Nigeria (SON). He is also a recognized thought leader, frequently providing expert commentary on national and regional security, governance, and resilience through television and other public platforms.

He remains deeply committed to advancing professional excellence, strengthening institutional governance, and shaping resilient security ecosystems across Africa through leadership, innovation, and adherence to international standards.
